Effective Date: July 13, 2026
At Healthness, your privacy is a priority. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our app. Please take a moment to read and understand our practices regarding your personal data. By using Healthness you agree to the practices described here.
Healthness is an app designed to help users track their calorie, macronutrient, and micronutrient intake, log water and exercise, track intermittent fasts and rate their energy after each fast, monitor progress toward fitness goals (such as losing or gaining weight), log meals via photo (analyzed by AI), by scanning a product barcode, or by photographing a nutrition or supplement label, maintain a daily supplement stack, and optionally share that progress with friends and family who also use the app. The app collects personal and health-related data to provide personalized fitness goals and the features described below.
When you create a regular account we collect:
You may also continue anonymously without an email or password. In that case Healthness creates a device-only anonymous user ID via Firebase Authentication. No personally identifiable information is collected for anonymous accounts beyond the data you choose to enter (age, weight, etc.).
If you add supplements to your stack, we collect:
Healthness records a most-recently-active timestamp on your user record, along with the kind of action that most recently updated it (water, exercise, food, fast, profile, or simply opening the app). This signal is used to sort the Sharing screen by recency. Friends you have connected with can see the timestamp (e.g., "active 5 min ago") on your card in their Sharing screen; the specific action type is not displayed to friends.
If you connect with another user, we record the friendship link (a "Match"). When either party blocks the other or removes the friendship, the link is deleted from our database immediately.
If you grant notification permission, Apple Push Notification service provides us with a device token via Firebase Cloud Messaging. We use this token to deliver friend-request and meal-reaction notifications. The token is stored against your user record. You may revoke notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Healthness offers an optional Premium subscription via Apple's StoreKit. We receive entitlement and transaction status from Apple to unlock premium features. We do not receive or store your payment-card details — those are handled entirely by Apple.
If you submit a report against another user or a meal, we record the reporter's user ID, the reported user's ID, an optional meal ID, the chosen reason, and a timestamp. Block records are stored privately in your account.
We may collect anonymous crash reports and basic usage analytics through Firebase to improve app stability and quality. This data is not linked to your name or email and is never sold or used for advertising.
Most data is collected when you enter it directly during onboarding, when you log a meal, water, an exercise, a fast, or a supplement, or when you accept a friend invitation. Push tokens are issued by Apple/Firebase when you grant notification permission. Subscription status is provided by Apple when you make or restore a purchase. Crash reports are sent automatically when the app encounters an unrecoverable error.
We collect your data to:
We do not use your data for advertising, profile selling, or cross-app tracking. We do not present third-party ads in the app.
Healthness lets you connect with friends or family who also use the app. A connection is established only after both users explicitly accept it. Once connected, the other user can see, for the current day:
The following are never shared with friends: your email, password, age, weight, height, individual food entries from manual or barcode logging (only daily totals are shown), historical days other than today, captured-meal text notes you wrote for yourself, your water intake log, your exercise log, your fasting records, your energy-after-fast ratings, and your supplement stack and micronutrient data. Water, exercise, fasting, supplement, and micronutrient data are visible only to you.
Sharing stops immediately when either party deletes the friendship, blocks the other user, or deletes their account.
When you use the "Capture Meal" feature, the photo you take or pick is sent over a secure HTTPS connection to our Firebase Cloud Function backend, which forwards it to Anthropic PBC's Claude API for nutritional estimation. The cooking-method tags and any optional note you provide are sent alongside the photo to improve accuracy.
When you use the "Scan Label" feature to photograph a nutrition or supplement facts panel, the photo is sent the same way to identify the product, classify it as a supplement, food, or drink, and extract its serving size, macronutrients, and micronutrients. Based on that classification, the result is saved either to your supplement stack or to your food list — you can review and change any of it before saving. The label photo itself is not retained after analysis.
You can also ask the app to AI-estimate micronutrients for a food or supplement you've entered manually, using only the name, dose, or macro values you provide — no photo is involved in this case.
Per Anthropic's API terms, photos and text sent for these features are processed only to generate a response and are not retained for training. We do not retain raw images on our backend beyond what is needed to display the meal in your own captured-meals list (stored in Firebase Storage under your user account).
AI estimates are approximations. They may be inaccurate. You can edit any item before saving.
Healthness uses two kinds of notifications:
You may opt in or out of notifications at any time via iOS Settings > Notifications > Healthness.
We use the following processors:
None of these services receive personal data for advertising or profiling. Water, exercise, and fasting data are stored only in Firebase and are not sent to Anthropic, Open Food Facts, or any other third party.
If another user shares content you find inappropriate, you can use the Report option (available from a friend's profile or from the meal photo viewer) to flag it. Reports are stored on our backend and reviewed within 24 hours. If a report is upheld we may remove the offending content and, in serious cases, suspend the reported account. You can also Block any connected user at any time, which immediately ends the friendship and prevents further interaction.
You have full control over your personal data in the app. You can:
To exercise any of these rights you don't have direct access to in the app, contact us at the email below.
Healthness is a fitness and wellness tool, not a medical device. The calorie targets, macronutrient targets, hydration goals, calories-burned estimates, fasting body-stage information, energy-after-fast trends, micronutrient tracking, and AI nutritional analyses provided by the app are approximations intended for general informational purposes. They are not a substitute for professional medical, dietary, or fitness advice.
Fasting in particular carries real risks for some people. Extended fasts (especially beyond twenty-four hours) and any fasting practice may be unsuitable for individuals with diabetes, a history of disordered eating, heart conditions, low blood pressure, kidney disease, those who are pregnant, nursing, or under the age of 18, those taking medication that requires food, or those who are otherwise medically advised not to fast. Body-stage content (catabolic, fat burning, ketosis, autophagy) describes general patterns observed in published research; it is educational, not individualized medical guidance. Supplement information shown in the app (including AI-estimated micronutrient content) is for personal tracking only and is not a recommendation to take any supplement — consult a healthcare provider before starting or changing a supplement regimen.
Consult a qualified healthcare provider before making significant changes to your diet, hydration, exercise routine, fasting practice, or supplement intake, particularly if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or are under the age of 18.
Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, foods, daily intakes, captured meals, meal photos, water entries, exercise entries, fasting records, energy ratings, supplement stack and check-off records, friendships, and personal report records are deleted from our active databases. Anonymized aggregated metrics and crash reports may be retained for product-quality purposes. Backups in Firebase's infrastructure may persist for a limited period as part of standard operational redundancy and are then purged on Google's regular schedule.
We are committed to protecting your personal information. All traffic between the app and our backend is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS). Data is encrypted at rest by Firebase. Access to operational systems is limited to authorized personnel. Despite these measures, no internet service can be guaranteed 100% secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your iOS device secured.
Healthness is not intended for users under the age of 9. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 9. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at swiftuivan@gmail.com, and we will take steps to delete such information.
Healthness is operated using Google Firebase infrastructure. Your data may be stored and processed on servers located in the United States, the European Union, or other regions where Google maintains facilities. By using the app, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties beyond the processors listed in Section 8.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app evolves. The "Effective Date" at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the app after a change indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.
